Meet Sairaj Dhond
Goan, jackfruit-obsessed, and on a mission to fix Indian fast food. Sairaj founded Wakao Foods in 2020 with a simple thesis: India produces tonnes of young jackfruit that just goes to waste, and it tastes incredible when you treat it like meat.
After scaling jackfruit ready-to-cook products across the country and a national-stage pitch on Shark Tank India, the next step was obvious: an actual outlet where people could come and eat the food the way it was meant to be eaten. Wakao Khao is that outlet.
